Rui Faria has dig at referee after draw with Burnley

Manchester United assistant Rui Faria sarcastically praised referee Mark Clattenburg after their scoreless draw with Burnley on Saturday.

Jose Mourinho was sent to the stands at halftime and Faria completed his media work after the match.

Ander Herrera was sent off after receiving a second yellow card and Faria was clearly not impressive when he said the red card was “fantastic work” from Clattenburg in a sarcastic tone.

Faria also said that the performance was good” I think everyone should be pleased with the performance. I think everyone in the stadium saw that we fight until the last second to get the result and that is the most important thing.”

“Jose is happy. We are very happy with the players performance, we tired and created many chances, their goalkeeper was the best player on the pitch. Things didn’t happen and I believe better days will come.”

Dyche: “Heaton superb”

There was no doubt that Sean Dyche was the happier of the two managers at Old Trafford on Saturday.

He had his goalkeeper ,and former United academy player, Tom Heaton to thank as he said “We kept him so quite last season that he’s been saving it up for this year!” “He’s in top form and even when your defenders play well against players like these, they can find different ways of opening you up.”

“Personally, I thought United were first class today, they crossed, they probed, they tried to be clever in the box and It’s as massive credit to them that they never stopped trying to get the game done and I’m pleased we dealt with that”

The point leaves United now seven points off fourth and a further away from the top of the table.

United face a trip to Fenerbache on Thursday before travelling Swansea on Sunday.
