Eden Hazard targets more Chelsea success

Eden Hazard has vowed to stay at Chelsea until he wins another Premier League title.

The Belgian forward struggled last season as The Blues finished 10th, putting up one of the worst title defences ever after winning the league just a year before. Hazard scored just six times in the 2015/16 campaign under Jose Mourinho and Guus Hiddink.

Under new manager Antonio Conte, the 25-year-old looks back to his best. He already has seven goals in 11 games so far this season and is helping to drive Chelsea towards the top of the table. They’re currently in second place, one point behind leaders Liverpool.

In an interview with The Guardian this week, Hazard put to bed any rumours that he was close to leaving Stamford Bridge over the summer:

“I made clear I had no intention of leaving after such a poor year. I didn’t want to go out like that. If I ever leave, it’ll be after winning a championship. You need to go out on a high so that people remember you for the right reasons.”

After scoring three goals and getting an assist in the four matches he played in October, Hazard picked up the Premier League Player of the Month award. These impressive stats were also coupled with the fact that he created seven goalscoring chances in these games and completed 17 out of 24 attempted dribbles.

He held off strong competition to take the award, which is certainly well deserved.

His coach Conte picked up the Manager of the Month award after Chelsea won all four of their October games, scoring 11 goals and conceding none.

Fans will be hoping Hazard and Chelsea can continue their fine form following last week’s international break. The Blues travel to Middlesbrough on Sunday as they look to pick up three more points and keep the pressure on Liverpool at the top.
