Champions League: Barcelona – Paris Saint – Germain

Can the MSN trio defeat the Saints from Paris.

Game Starts Wednesday, March 8th, at 20;45 at Camp Nou – Catalonia

Recent Form

Barcelona:

With the Catalon side loosing to Paris Saint – Germain 4;0 at home they must activate their Messi ,  Suarez and Neymar combo and get the thing going for them. With Messi being on fire this whole season in the LaLiga without doubt we gonna see some attacking football but will Barcelona get back with 4 goals it all depends on the motivation. Barcelona at this point is in a really good form. They got 5 wins in a row in the LaLiga and the last two are with 5 and 6 goals meaning that their attacking players are ready to get in the action. With Messi , Neymar and Suarez scoring some of the goals in the last two games we can see that the Catalon’s forwards are ready to get in the action. This season Barcelona are undefeated at home , but we can all agree that Paris Saint – Germain are playing out of their mind. So for all odds go in favor of Barcelona, their home wins, recent form with a lot of goals and they even won versus Atl. Madrid with 2 goals away.

Paris Saint –  Germain

The French side is in a pretty good form too. With them being not beaten in the last 10 games we can say that they are pretty ready to hold the bunker and the back line versus Barcelona and wont let them get their 4 goals. Paris Saint -Germain are in a really good form , without their last Ligue 1 win with a minimal goal diffrence od 1;0 and the draw versus Toulouse of 0;0 they are in a really good position. Cavani is on fire this season with 27 goals and zero assists he is the best goal scorer in the French League and overall a dangerous forward when he plays versus any club. Beside Cavani the Saints have Draxler a hell of a player. He is ready and fit and this duo together will dominate the pitch. Can the Saints hold the difference of 4 goals and keep their net clear and it all depends on how ready is Barcelona . With the atmosphere and Camp Nou this match for the Saints will be hell.

Info

Barcelona – Info

The big day is here, with FC Barcelona facing the hugely difficult task of turning around a four-goal deficit against París Saint Germain in tonight’s Champions League round of 16 second leg (8.45pm CET).

Luis Enrique has announced the squad of 18 that will be looking to do something that’s never been done before at this stage of the competition. The name of André Gomes in place of Denis Suárez is the only change with respect to the one that beat Celta 5-0 at the weekend. The Galician midfielder will have to sit this one out along with Jordi Masip, while Jeremy Mathieu and Aleix Vidal continue to recover from their respective ankle injuries.

The full squad for the game at the Camp Nou is therefore as follows: Ter Stegen, Cillessen, Piqué, Rakitic, Sergio, Arda, Iniesta, Suárez, Messi, Neymar Jr, Rafinha, Mascherano, Paco Alcácer, Jordi Alba, Digne, S. Roberto, André Gomes and Umtiti.

Press : Luiz Enrique

Beside the players , Luis Enrique in the press called some stuff, his words are:

“A lot has happened between the first leg and today, which is no surprise given our busy schedule.”

“We have been playing better, and we have to be optimistic — we have to know what we have to go out and do.”

“We have to score a lot of goals, which we have done plenty of times before. But let’s not get crazy, tomorrow we have nothing to lose and everything to win.”

“At the end of the game the scoreboard will say whether we deserved to go through.”

“We are going through our same routine as always.”

“Managing emotions is paramount in football, even more so with this game.”

“I am certain that at some point we will be close to evening up the score. And when get close, you raise morale, and your opponent starts getting discouraged.”

“Camp Nou needs to be like a pressure cooker, ready to explode from the opening whistle.”

Press Conference Emre

Some of the Press conference words of Emre are:

THE SQUAD
“If we decided to bring so many players, it’s because we thought this very important match was a good opportunity to get everyone together. Gonçalo Guedes isn’t eligible and he can’t play, neither can Thiago Motta, who is injured. After Tuesday’s training session, we’ll see which players are at 100% for the game.”

THE SPIRIT
“The confidence I have in my team is the same as that before the first leg in Paris, and the respect I have for Barça is just as big as I had before the first leg. Our ambition is to produce a performance that follows on from that which we produced at the Parc des Princes.”

THE CAMP NOU
“The bigger the challenge, the higher the level of the match. On Wednesday, the atmosphere will be in Barça’s favour, just as we had the fans with us in the first leg. The atmosphere is one thing, but the protagonists are on the pitch.”

THE KEY TO THE MATCH
“It’s to be prepared for everything that can happen in 90 minutes. We’ll need to defend, to attack, to handle challenges well, but also to suffer together and manage to make them suffer. We’re preparing for this game as if it were an extension of the first leg.”

A GREAT OPPONENT
“If I’ve learned something in football, it’s to always respect your opponent. I repeat myself: the respect we have for Barça must be the same as before the first leg. They’re a great team. We have the chance to play a great match, in a great stadium against a great team. It’s the kind of game that can enable a whole club to take a step forward.”
