Barcelona: Neymar wants to play in England

Barcelona’s Brazilian forward Neymar admitted that he would like to play in the Premier League in the future.

During an event, he told reporters:

“It’s a championship that surprises me,”

“I like the playing style and the teams.

“I admire Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool – these are the teams that are always fighting for the title.

“And then you have top-level coaches like Mourinho and [Pep] Guardiola. These are coaches any player would like to play for.

“Who knows? I’d like to play there.”

These claims will undoubtedly give basis for much speculations during the summer transfer window. Altough it is highly unlikely that any move would materialise in the near future, as Neymar just signed a new contract in October, which runs until 2021.

The striker’s agent claimed that Manchester United tabled a world record offer for his client back in 2015, when Louis van Gaal was in charge of the Red Devils.
It is rumoured that Jose Mourinho talked with Neymar regarding signing for United, before submitting a bid in the summer.

Considering the status of Neymar in world football, and the financial strength in the Premier League, it is highly likely that Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City would have realistic chance of signing him in the future. Based on current situations, it would be a huge surprise if any of Arsenal, Liverpool or Tottenham could sign the Brazilian.

Neymar joined Barcelona from Santos in 2013. This season he has scored 14 goals and provided 23 assists in all competitions.
